Take to the Sky at Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is in an ideal location for those who want to get away from the water AND the land as well. The beautiful expanse of sky serves as a perfect backdrop for those who want to take to sky and soar high. At Lake Tahoe you can rent a balloon, glide, and sky dive. So whether you want a relatively safer thrill or a bigger adrenaline rush you can definitely be sure that there’s something waiting for you at Lake Tahoe.

Ballooning at Lake Tahoe

Ballooning is the perfect activity for groups since a balloon is good for 5 to 15 people. Balloon rides start very early. Watch the rising sun before setting out on your ride and gaze at the beautiful scenery. Each balloon has an accompanying staff so you need not worry about steering and landing. All you need to worry about is the nippy air and your hungry stomach so be sure to dress warm and pack your lunch.

Gliding Over the Lake

Soaring is a very popular activity in Lake Tahoe thanks to the great glider operation at Minden Airport. Soar Minden offers sailplane flight instruction, glider and equipment rentals, oxygen fills, rides, towing, and glider tiedowns. Blessed by superior soaring conditions Minden is actually very popular among soaring pilots as a place to fly badge and aim for record flights. As a tourist though you don’t have to worry about setting any records but can simply enjoy the view as your pilot takes you for a ride.
